This is a memoir, but not one looking back. Christopher, at the height of his popularity as a porn performer and escort, writes as if we\u2019re riding along with him. Patrick Sands: In your book, you tell a lot of unique and quirky stories about escorting, but what is a \u201cnormal session\u201d with Christopher Daniels like?<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: 85-90% of my clients are straight, questioning, on the DL, looking for a first time experience or doing something they can only do out of town, asking me to teach them the basics.\u00a0 I don\u2019t usually get crazy or extreme requests.\u00a0 Sometimes there isn\u2019t even sex, but if there is, it\u2019s usually pretty vanilla.\u00a0 Role-play is something I do in my personal life and would do more with clients, but they are hesitant to get into character. I also get a lot of guys who had a crush on a white, blond, blue-eyed guy when they were younger.\u00a0 There was one guy who was obsessed with blond pubic hair, but that was \u201cquirky.\u201d\u00a0

\nPatrick: You said sometimes there isn\u2019t even sex?\u00a0 Why?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: A lot of guys just want someone to talk to, some are nervous, and some guys build up the fantasy so much that they can\u2019t get hard.

\nPatrick: How did you learn to be an escort?\u00a0 From other escorts?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: Not from other escorts.\u00a0 Because each client is different, I am constantly learning.\u00a0<\/p>\n

Patrick: In your acknowledgments, you thank<\/strong> Arpad Miklos<\/a>, who took his life during the writing of this book.\u00a0 What did you learn from him?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I mentioned Arpad because I really looked up to him. To me he was an Adonis. He was this huge, burly,\u00a0larger than life, sex God. He had been in the industry for years and to me he still was hot as fuck. I honestly thought he had it all. He seemed to be in hot demand as far as escorting and porn and if you had ever met him you would know he had a certain unique charisma about him. The morning I found out he killed himself, I cried. I cried for a few hours because it was a realization that none of us knows what another person is going through and to know that someone who you know and care about is hurting is a lot to process.\u00a0

\nPatrick: What do you understand now that you did not know when you started?\u00a0<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\n\"\"Christopher: I used to question why everyone was so bitter, harsh and egotistical. Now I understand it.\u00a0 Since 85% of what I do is deal with someone\u2019s bullshit, I can see how it\u2019s easy to get jaded.\u00a0 But, the way I behave affects my business, so I work hard not to get jaded or bitter. I really enjoy my clients.

\nPatrick: A lot of escorts get guys calling just to hear an escort\u2019s voice, to jerk them around or just to waste them time.\u00a0 How quickly can you tell if someone is genuine or fake?<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: In a few seconds.\u00a0 Actually, there are many times I will not answer and let the caller leave a message.\u00a0 If they do, there is a better chance they are genuine.\u00a0 Either on the phone or texting or emailing, one of my rules is that if there are five or more messages going back and forth, the meeting is not happening.\u00a0

\nPatrick: What if someone is very nervous and feels less nervous with a few back and forth messages?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: That happens too.\u00a0 You really never can tell, but I have to make a quick judgment.\u00a0 I shut a conversation down after five questions because I don\u2019t have the time to do more.\u00a0

\nPatrick: What was your wackiest experience, something that isn\u2019t in the book, so we don\u2019t ruin any surprises!<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I was in LA and a client set something up.\u00a0 When I got there, it was dark behind the door and then out came an Asian tranny, a boy, but with boobs and long hair.\u00a0 I was not expecting that.\u00a0 I knew I was going to a couple, but not like this.\u00a0 I told them my body is not an all-you-can-eat buffet!

\nA lot of clients like to have my porn on in the background, which is fine, but I try not to look at it or else I\u2019ll start criticizing myself and won\u2019t be able to perform.

\nPatrick: There is nothing to criticize! What is it like to escort in Las Vegas?\u00a0<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: The escorting industry is very transient, but even more in Vegas.\u00a0 There are about 50 or 60 guys working regularly, but most of them come and go so quickly.\u00a0 For the clients, Vegas is perfect because most of them are there on vacation or for work and they can do whatever they want without anyone else knowing.\u00a0

\nPatrick: What is your favorite escorting city?<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: My favorite is probably New York City.\u00a0 Every time I\u2019m in NYC, I have interesting experiences like the ones in the book.\u00a0 The guys are usually very attractive, the kind of guys I would have sex with for free.\u00a0 I have one client who is in his 30s, he works in fashion, he\u2019s really hot, has a great apartment and we always have fun.\u00a0 To me, it doesn\u2019t feel like work, but every time, he\u2019s nervous.\u00a0 That\u2019s surprising to me!\u00a0 You can never tell what is going to happen in NYC.

\nPatrick: Any least favorite cities that you dread visiting?\u00a0<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: No, not really.\u00a0 I escort where I am shooting porn and I don\u2019t usually stay for more than a week if it\u2019s purely for work.\u00a0 To an extent, I\u2019m kind of spoiled by working in Vegas.\u00a0 When I am in other cities, I have to remind myself that not every client is in a suite at the Wynn or the Venetian.\u00a0 In NYC and in Europe, the rooms are small, overpriced and sometimes really old.\u00a0 In Europe, I\u2019ve gone into rooms where there is just a small twin bed.\u00a0 I\u2019m 6\u20191\u201d and can\u2019t fit on those, especially with another person!

\nPatrick: What cities are on your list to try, places you have never escorted?\u00a0<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: Washington, DC, Dallas, Toronto, Montreal.\u00a0 I haven\u2019t been exposed to lots of places, so I would try anywhere.\u00a0 Sao Paulo, Istanbul, anywhere overseas.

\nPatrick: They would LOVE you in Sao Paulo and if your escorting sessions are anything like your porn scenes, you would LOVE them just as much.\u00a0From being with so many clients, what are some of the things that you have learned?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: Gay men believe cock size is really important, but most men are smaller than what is usually called \u201caverage.\u201d\u00a0 A lot of guys either lie about their size or are using some kind of fantasy ruler.\u00a0 Also, having grown up in Canada, I can tell you that overall, Canadians have bigger dicks.\u00a0 Canadian men tend to be taller and bigger.\u00a0 Everywhere.\u00a0

\n\"\"Patrick: You mentioned that you encounter some really hot clients.\u00a0 What happens in those instances?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I have had surprises at the door where I think, \u201cI would do this for free!\u201d\u00a0 People think escorts are always meeting attractive younger men, or maybe Richard Gere in \u201cPretty Woman.\u201d\u00a0 It happens, but it\u2019s not the norm.\u00a0 But, looks are not always that important to an escort.\u00a0 Chemistry and charisma are often more important. That\u2019s why I enjoy so many of my clients. They are funny and sweet.

\nPatrick: There is a story in the book about a time you were uncomfortable with a client you had seen before because of his extreme tastes, but you went through with it.\u00a0 What would cause you to say no and walk out, what are your deal-breakers?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: A woman.\u00a0 No, I\u2019m kidding.\u00a0 Kind of.\u00a0 I know a lot of escorts insist on seeing pictures of guys who call them.\u00a0 I would never do that.\u00a0 I always try to make the best of the situation. I don\u2019t have any rules like that.\u00a0

\nPatrick: After the movies and the escorting, do you still have fantasies?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: Yes, but I remind myself that this is my job.\u00a0 In my personal life, I have lots of fantasies.\u00a0 When I work, it\u2019s not about what I like, it\u2019s about what the clients like and what they want.\u00a0

\nChristopher: Not gonna happen. You may be able to rent me by the hour but I always try to maintain a certain level of decorum with clients. Not that there is anything wrong with it, but that\u2019s just not the service I provide. I save the public sex for my private life.\u00a0 \u00a0

\nPatrick: In \u201cMoney\u2019s On the Dresser,\u201d you tell some very funny stories, and some tender ones, especially clients with unusual special needs.\u00a0 Do you think you are in the minority of escorts who would stay to see these through to the end?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I think there is a small level of panic that comes over me when I have a client that has special needs. I get nervous because I don\u2019t want to hurt them and I just want to be aware of the situation. There have been a few times where I will walk into a room and see a wheelchair by the bed and I freeze. I just want to know the situation because sometimes certain precautions have to be taken.

\nPatrick: That\u2019s really cool to hear. You dedicate the book to your clients. Have any reacted? Are they proud?\u00a0 Are there any who refused to let you use a particular story?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I don\u2019t think many of them know they are in the book. I used pseudonyms to protect the privacy of my clients and it\u2019s not like I kiss and tell! Oh wait\u2026 I guess I do. My intent was never to \u201ctalk shit\u201d about my clients or bite the hand that feeds me. I just wanted to write an open and honest book about my experiences and the things I have gone through.<\/p>\n

\"\"Patrick: Do you think you will lose clients, or have clients think twice about calling, or is the book great for business?<\/strong>
\n\u00a0
\nChristopher: That is a concern that caused me to hesitate publishing the book. I really hope that\u2019s not the case and people will sense that after reading my story. I have to believe in the bigger process of life and I have to do what I have to do. Writing a book is something I (and a lot of people) have always wanted to do. I never thought it would be about escorting or the XXX industry, but that is the path my life has taken and I have to be a big boy and accept the consequences of my actions. It\u2019s kind of like what Willem went through when she got kicked off of \u201cRuPaul\u2019s Drag Race: Season 4.\u201d She knew what she was doing was wrong and she \u201cmanned up\u201d and accepted the consequences when she was booted off the show.<\/p>\n

\nPatrick: Interesting! In the book, you are so down-to-earth, the type who could be fun for a few drinks after work (we know you are a sexual dynamo already). Is the Christopher Daniels of the book really you?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: Yes, he is. I have had a few people ask me if I had a ghost writer and they were surprised to find out I didn\u2019t. Seriously people? You think I have money lying around for a ghost writer? Hell no. This is me. This is who I am and these are my stories. Everything in the book is real and believe me\u2026 it\u2019s not always pretty.

\nPatrick: It\u2019s a terrific book, truly! The focus here is really on your escorting.\u00a0 Should we be on the lookout for a porn-flavored sequel?<\/strong>

\nChristopher: Naturally! It\u2019s in the works now. Still no ghost writer. The stories are juicier and it\u2019s going to focus more on the porn industry. I started porn to promote my escorting and I wrote this book after my first year and half filming scenes. I have lots to dish on the industry and I plan on letting the kids have it! ?

\nPatrick: Pun intended, what was the hardest part about writing \u201cMoney\u2019s on the Dresser?\u201d\u00a0 What was the easiest part? <\/strong><\/p>\n

Christopher: The easiest part was writing the damn book. Hardest thing was editing it. I think I have read this book at least 100 times and I\u2019m the type of person that hates the sound of his own voice, so to read my story over and over and over and over and over and over again was mind numbing, to say the least. Don\u2019t get me wrong, the book is great and you will love it but it\u2019s like eating steak and lobster every day. Doesn\u2019t matter how good it tastes, steak and lobster every day is bound to get old.

\nPatrick: Before we started, I said it\u2019s a shame Oprah isn\u2019t still around, because this book is so honest, no judgments made (other than a few shitheads who deserve it) and you are really laying bare the what it\u2019s like FOR YOU to escort, not everyone else, but YOU that Oprah would eagerly interview you. Oprah would ask this: do you see yourself as a sort of ambassador, shining a light on escorting, but in a responsible, respectful way?\u00a0<\/strong>

\nChristopher: I hope so. Let me compare this to drag again. Porn stars and drag queens are very similar in that they are both the first to be celebrated and the first to be torn down within their own communities. I think RuPaul brought drag into mainstream pop culture and caused people to look at drag queens as legitimate entertainers and artists. People may look at sex workers as broken fucked up individuals. They may be right. I mean, we are but no more than the rest of society. What we are doing is a service that needs to be done and whether you like it or not, we\u2019re not going anywhere.

\nPatrick: I hope not! Having written a book now, which puts you in a category with only a small handful of gay male escorts, how do you feel about being the public face of your industry?\u00a0<\/strong>
