I would like to say CONGRATULATION to my blog buddy Jasun Mark<\/a>. The movie he directed last year, DICK DANGER<\/a>, is nominated in 7 categories for The 2014 Grabbys Awards<\/a> – Best Movie, Best Actor (Jesse Jackman), Best Screenplay, Best Videography, Best All Sex Movie, Steamworks Fan Favorite and Jasun Mark himself is nominated for Best Director.<\/p>\n

I’ll let Jasun Mark himself walks you through the story behind his movie “Dick Danger.”<\/p>\n

DICK DANGER<\/a> is my homage to the 60s and 70s crime comics, spy novels and gangster movies I grew up with. Always fun to put my own porno-spin on the classics. This has got a very edgy, gritty, graphic novel look and feel but I never forgot that I was first and foremost, making a Titanmen movie.<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

\"Dick<\/a><\/p>\n

I wanted to being those comics to life and give it a bright, saturated colour and use those slanted camera angles and sparse sets you get with hand-drawn comics. I wanted all the guys to be big, beefy muscle men and I chose Tom Wolfe to play Dick because he has that same square jaw as Dick Tracy. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I decided early on that instead of getting Tom to do a voice-over or have the characters act out too much of the story, I\u2019d create a comic book to scroll by to set up the scenes. I actually had a cast who were pretty good actors compared to most porn performers, so I still let them deliver a couple of lines, but I wanted to keep the whole movie rooted in that comic book universe. The soundtrack had to have that Batman sound to it, but I was also very careful about making sure that there wasn\u2019t a lot of extraneous sound on the locations, so I was able to break with tradition and just have music for the scene setups and then just leave the room and ambient sound for the scenes themselves. <\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

Titan were a bit baffled when I explained what I was doing, but after the success I\u2019d had with Nightfall and Wide Awake, they put enough trust in me to let me get creative. Still, I had Bruce Cam\u2019s voice ringing in my ears the whole time telling me \u201cWe Sell Hard Dick.\u201c<\/em><\/p><\/blockquote>\n

I wanted to put it in that comic universe but I was careful to never forget that I was making a Titanmen movie.<\/p>\n

And that\u2019s what we got.<\/p>\n
