prep/truvada is an expensive treatment that lines the pockets of big pharma and only prevents ONE STD, and it’s not a 100% guarantee either. Condoms prevent HIV, chlamydia, syphilis, gonorrhea, and a few others.

Sxg is right–Truvada was not & is not designed to be used by itself. Additionally, studies indicate that most who are taking it are NOT taking it correctly. It has to be taken EVERY day, just like an anti-depressant or low-dose chemotherapy….you can’t just pop one on days you feel like having some raw manmeat up the poop chute. Also, there have been no completed studies on the effects of long term use of the drug by uninfected persons….how it affects an infected person may very well not be the same as an uninfected. It also does nothing for the diseases sxg mentioned….and it also does not protect men from Hepatitis C. PrEP is available in Europe, I have friends over there on it. As for condoms being more effective, condoms have a 30% failure rate when used correctly. PrEP is 100% effective when used correctly.
