When Colt Studios began almost all the men were straight. The vibe was “anyone can look but no one can touch” a hot and sharp contrast to then Falcon Studios, Nova, and Catalina where all the models interacted with each other in print and on screen. Colt and Fox were in a class of their own and filled a niche which today individual photographers like Rick Day, Michael Stokes and Ron Lloyd have the talent, the patience and the skill to replicate. Rip Colt would turn over in his grave if he knew that Rutherford would create another Falcon Studios out of Colt Studio.
