Well, someone did write a biography of Joey Stefano’s tortured life, a film would be great. But I would really love to see a film about the late Kyle McKenna, undoubtedly the most handsome guy to ever do porno and the greatest bottom ever. “WonderBread and Ecstasy” was the bio of Stefano and it was a good read (and described his diet). It’s been years since I read it but I still remember parts on how he would blow all his money on drugs and clothes and yet not be able to afford a dentist and one part where he was absolutely broke in Europe walking around a train station looking for any dropped coins or thrown away tickets and yet shortly before he had been chauffered to a Hollywood party and refused to get out of the car and walk a block to it . I’d watch the movie, but I think it’s been done a hundred times.

Gosh, here’s an instance where two people can have a totally different take on something. I read Wonder Bread & Ecstasy, too, as well as Dave Kinnick’s interview with JS in his book Sorry I Asked. In both, there wasn’t much beneath the surface with Joey Stefano (and neither was a hatchet job either, it bears pointing out). He came across as vain and vacuous, addicted to sex and drugs, and he wasn’t a particularly nice person. There wasn’t anything interesting about his life; his family didn’t know what he was doing, they thought he was trying to be a legit model. A sad and tawdry tale, yes, but I don’t see anything there to get a movie plot from.
