Logan goes into the locker room, disgusted, flings open his locker door, yanks off his shirt, drops his shorts, throwing both in the locker. Coach Knox soon comes in to check on why he left the team practice. Logan tells the coach that he is holding back the team, exposing his lack of self confidence. The coach tells him that he just needs more practice and asks if there is anything he can do to help, knowing that with every season, a young athlete grows a little bolder, stronger, more assertive, more determined to go for what he wants.

On a beautiful, crisp, sunshine filled day, Scoutmaster Scott and I were erecting a large tent, not like the little green ones mostly used, this one was very tall and wide. I was trying my hardest to connect some straps, but could not reach them due to my height. Fortunately, Scoutmaster Scott is much taller than I, and offered to help me to connect the snaps. I accepted, then he got behind me and lifted me up and then I was successful. The big tent was complete. Afterwards, we sat on the big bed inside the tent and I asked him what we should do now. Scoutmaster Scott said we could do anything we want, while he placed his hand on my thigh, rubbing it, inching his way upward.

It was a relatively hot day outside which usually garnered a trip to the beach, but rather than risk potentially getting sun burnt Dex had decided he would go to his favorite pinball arcade with some of his crew. He met up with the guys in the heavily air conditioned game corner, the unmistakable clicks and bangs of the flippers smacking the metal ball around as well as the distorted vocal and musical prompts singing from the various themed machines provided a comforting white noise for the five foot nothing twink.

It was one of those days that was so beautiful outside, you couldn’t help but feel lucky to be alive. I had to get out there and enjoy it. Spring was in full bloom. The sun was shining, and the temperature was perfect for a run. A warm breeze came through the window as I tied up my running shoes, grabbed my favorite jockstrap and running shorts and headed for the door.
