The appeal of bareback, like porn in general, is the fantasy element. In a perfect world where there was no disease and you could have sex with a guy without a condom, wouldn’t you prefer that to the sex being mediated by a piece of latex, having to stop and put it on then continue again.
Legitimate porn companies, like CF, screen their models by requiring them to provide a clean STI test. In reality we can’t do that at the spur of the moment.
Some diseases, notably AIDS, can take time to register on a test, but that’s the risk the performer takes just as with mainstream movies where stunt men and women have been injured and killed despite efforts to protect them.
If we say don’t take any risk and always use condoms, then we could require the same of mainstream movies and never have action scenes which have the potential for injury or death. We would be just as complicit in that tragedy.
No doubt if CF had a documented transmission of disease we would hear about it. The greater concern is the complacency and the belief that AIDS isn’t a big deal anymore and that young performers will go with a fly-by-night company that doesn’t care about its performers and will allow them to have sex bareback without requiring testing.
Since I used to be strongly opposed to bareback in videos, that’s my thinking about the topic right now. I find it hotter because I imagine being able to do that.
