Hugh Hunter, the gay porn star who works for studios like Titan Media, Pride Studios, Menatplay, Bait Buddies, just come clean to his fans on Tumblr that he used to shoot porn for bareback company Treasure Island Media.
Actually, I blogged about that myself back in 2010. I just didn’t recognize him. He was called Joe Rocco back then. One of my readers, Jimmy, told me about this last month in the comment section.
He also reveals about his past alcoholic and meth addiction problem.
Many years ago I did shoot for Treasure Island Media. I am not ashamed of the the work I did or the company I worked for. I am, however, ashamed of the person I was at that time. I was an alcoholic and a meth addict. I was a complete and utter mess that could not function because of how sick I was. I went into rehab immediately following my shoot. When I left rehab and rejoined the world I distanced myself completely from every aspect of that life, including my brief time with Treasure Island Media. This person–the one who shot that work–is dead as far as I’m concerned. That person is not me.
Years later, after rebuilding my life and myself both mentally and physically, I decided to attempt adult entertainment again as a different person–a new person, the one I am today. So Hugh Hunter was born December 8, 2014. I did not announce or disclose my previous work to anyone. I didn’t find it necessary, nor did I believe it was anyone’s business. I did not see associating myself with that person as a healthy choice for my life or a way of maintaining my new sobriety. It has now been brought to my attention that people have made the connection and are upset that I lied. I do understand it was, technically, a lie. And I am sorry if I hurt anyone; that was never my intention. In my mind though it was better to let that part of me, the old lost addict that I was, be dead. So now you know, I’be said it. It’s out there for everyone to read. And I can live with that. Just remember: We all make the best choices we can for ourself at any given moment in time. They aren’t always the best or most sensible choices, but they are the ones that make the most sense to us in that moment. In hindsight, my choice wasn’t the best. But it did allow me to rebuild and restart which is what I needed to do. If this offends or bothers anyone I am very sorry. Everyone has their struggles and a past they must live with. I chose to kill mine off in an effort to start a new life, a fresh and sober life. Thank you.

Odd question to ask for a company who mostly works with non-exclusive models. I’m sure that application is outdated. BUT it wouldn’t surprise me if the follow-up question to that was “Was your previous work in porn barebacking?”
It is funny though because Titan and Jesse Jackman were promoting and teasing Hugh like crazy! Funny thing is, while he may have first filmed for Titan, Titan does such a shit job at releasing scenes within a reasonable time that he’s already had scenes released with 2 or more different companies by the time Titan released their first (maybe only?) Hugh Hunter scene. I’m wondering if Jesse Jackman knew about Hugh’s bb porn past since I think he was the one who recruited him to Titan.

Well I certainly didn’t mean to ‘out’ him. I just assumed from the headline that said it was his first time barebacking on film you’d want to know that it wasn’t.

Lots of porn stars change thier names for no good reason. He at least had a good valid reason he had bettered himself by getting sober and off meth and in order to distance himself from that part of his life he chose to start with a new porn name, that is hardly lying in my view.

He’s fine without Titan. He’s been filming in Europe for Men At Play and his work is amazing there. He can work at Raging Falcon House, Men.com, PrideStudios, and others here in the US and still have a very healthy porn career without the need for Titan.

If titan continues to black list actors who have done bareback work for other studios then they will soon have only a handful of models they can use. They need to stop discriminating and drop that out dated policy, if they have not done so already.
