so agree with you. But i think what happens is that SC dont make the money they used to, therefore, they just can afford just below average looking guys. Examples can be Joe, asher, baron, birdface jakob,phillip, ace, etc these guys would have never been hired 10 years ago, they dont bring new subscribers, so we have to be content with the few hunks who are still working for SC (randy, joey, Brysen, jack, blake, Robbie, dillan ) to name a very few. The problem as you’ve accurately stated, is that Sean Cody can’t be paying top dollar to get the most attractive guys the way they used to. I say (write) that for the following reasons.
When I first joined Sean Cody about 8 or 9 years ago, the monthly subscription was roughly $27.95. After 6 consecutive months of membership, the monthly subscription rate dropped to $19.95, as Sean Cody called the new rate a “loyalty” rate.
When I renewed my subscription for another year this past March, I paid $84.99. If you’re doing the math, monthly I only pay $7.08, while a few years ago I was paying $19.95 per month, and before the loyalty discount, I was paying $27.95 per month.
You don’t have to be good at math (which I’m not) to understand that Sean Cody’s revenues have DRAMATICALLY dropped from a few years ago. As such, there’s no way that they can pay models what they used to, so of course they’re not going to be able to attract the caliber of models today that they attracted/hired in years past.
I never minded paying $19.95 per month or $27.95 per month as long as the content was good. I think most gay porn consumers feel the same, in that we’ll pay top dollar for high quality content, but we won’t pay top dollar for shitty content.
That’s why I’m still a subscriber to Corbin Fisher after many years, as CF hasn’t lowered its monthly subscription rate, because it consistently provides high quality content weekly.
I’m not sure why Sean Cody dropped their prices so much, but I’m guessing that it had something to do with the economy going bad a few years ago and customers having to make choices between rent or porn subscriptions.
Again, I’m willing to pay $25.00 monthly for good/great content, but not for crap. Sean Cody’s content is very “hit or miss,” but I keep subscribing because it’s cheap as heck at $7.08 per month no matter how much it sucks!

As stated by other fans, I am troubled by the low caliber of models that Sean Cody has released in this past year especially. I think a lot of it has to do with them being bought out by Men.Com if the press is accurate. Men.Com is one of the worst studios ever and it amazes me that they are still around. For a long time Sean Cody wouldn’t touch DVD sales and I was told by them that it was because of the Bush Administration which I thought was a lame excuse. Then when it was told that Men.Com bought them, DVD sales magically appeared. They may have helped buoy the site, but DVD sales can only help for a limited time. Especially since the caliber of new models is not going to generate interest with their individual DVDs.
