I think one thing everyone is forgetting is personal hygene. It’s not much different than if you are going to have sex with condoms, only you may want to take a couple of extra precautions. Just want to point out to DVDKing many STIs are viral or fungal, and many are transmitted by body fluids (including HIV). In such cases, washing skin with anti-bacterial soap will be less than useless. Also, to people who seem to think HIV is now treatable and unimportant, the fact is that even with proper retroviral treatment, people with HIV still have a significantly reduced life expectancy. And while HIV tests have gotten very good at correctly identifying people who are positive, they still frequently give false negatives. It takes time to build up a measurable amount of virus and/or antibodies in your blood, so lots of people with recent infections will test negative. In saying all this, I’m not trying to sell a particular moral view, just clear up some dangerous medical myths that seem to be floating around in this discussion.
