It doesn’t guarantee one won’t be safe. Using it to prevent infection is a serious decision.

there’s a common misconception about truvada. people think that it reduces the chance of contracting hiv by 99.9% when it is really only 80-90%- even then the study was heavily flawed.

PreEP has been studied and May of this year the US Public Health Department released their findings and in their studies they say that 92% of those that used the drug were still HIV free. 92% IMHO is not a 100% guarantee so even taking the highly expensive drug there is still a chance of getting HIV. Now interesting enough it talks about using condoms in the process which even lowers the chances of someone getting HIV at all while also taking the drug.
There are many people who can’t afford to take that drug in the first place which means still using a condom is the safer and more inexpensive alternative to taking PreEP. Oh yeah, once you start taking the drugs you have to continue to take them to ensure that they work. So if you have deep pockets then this drug is for you but lets be honest here it is not a 100% cure to contracting HIV.
The men that do porn and choose to have BB sex is all on them. They can believe what they want to believe but there is not a 100% cure anywhere when it comes to HIV. They might be close but sorry their close is not close enough for me.
