A sad news for porn industry today. Gay porn star Jay Dymel has passed away. There’s no information regarding his cause of death. A GoFundMe page has been created to help raise money for his cremation and memorial. My condolences to his partner Ryan Stone, family, and friends.

And according to Leo Forte’s Facebook: “Sadly he slipped in to a coma and has been on life support since. People are coming to pay respect before he is released and allowed to pass tomorrow morning.”

I struggle reading these articles. There may be a high probability that he passed away from some sort of drug related issue. The sad part is that many of these “friends” that are mourning him probably were doing substances with him or stood by and watched. There is no good reason why a young man such as him passed away so suddenly. Let’s face it. The gay scene is FULL of drug abuse, steroids, alcoholism and yet we try to pretend like everything is a party and good time. Ignoring the huge issues that are causing the downfall and destruction of so many. I struggle to find compassion for people when they lose someone when they stood by as their loved one gambled away their life. Jay has now found peace. I hope we as a community eventually wake up

If there was a drugs element to his passing, it’s bitterly sad that Pride Month is about celebration and it so often involves taking substances that have, what, zero quality control ensured and that can prove lethal. I understand escapism but I’ll never understand that Russian Roulette aspect of drug use.
