It’d be wrong to blame this all on the “haters”, but the cruel criticism too often seen here and elsewhere probably contributed and wasn’t at all helpful.

Almatolmen while I don’t fully agree that online criticism on pornstars contribute to these men’s demises, I have to say that Arpad was one of the least criticized I have ever seen on here or many other blogs. The only backlash he ever had was when he did those straight scenes, and that was years ago. The majority had nothing but good things to say about him, and those that said anything negative about him weren’t really that harsh as far as I can remember.

In the final analysis, there really is no excuse for using the Internet and its anonymity to write hurtful remarks. Sometimes it seems like civility is a virtue seldomed practiced.

I met Arpad several years ago on manhunt. I had no idea who he was. He invited me to his hotel and was a perfect gentleman. Never once did he talk about being a porn performer. I had never heard of this guy and hearing this news made me sad and depressed. Depression is a serious illness and no one know’s the troubles others are going through in society. As an mental health advocate and someone who has battled depression, I can tell you, sometimes I’ve felt overwhelmed in my life. Being black, gay, Hispanic, and middle aged can be overwhelming at times. I take each day at a time because there’s so much pressure in the gay lifestyle to look young, attractive, and having a nice body. However, goodlooking or attractive people too have their crosses to bare and they too are sometimes unhappy. Today I will pray for this Mr. Miklos soul and that he’s at peace. Hearing about Mr. Arpad Miklos death today have really shaken me. No one will never know what was on this gentleman’s mind that allegedly caused him to commit suicide. Yet when you come across one where the person is sad since they never go to see the person “bottom” you realize that there certainly are greater problems in our society other than suicide.

Where were his friends, his agent, the porn industry when he was depressed? Someone had to see or know that he was suffering.
