What’s different about this situation is that it’s the opposite way around. Most male performers (who end up going over to the over side so to speak) get their start in gay porn and then transtition over to the straight side of the business.
The majority of those guys end up changing their name and downplaying their gay porn past. When news gets out, most studios on the straight side end up not giving these performers much work and they get blacklisted.
There are exceptions to the rule. Mark Slade (aka Frank Towers) had a long and successful career in straight porn before doing gay work. Jason McCain made a brief splash over to our side after establishing himself in the straight end of the business.
Now Rocco Reed. It’s will be interesting to see what was his motivation and how he thinks it gonna reflect on his career if he wants to continue working in straight porn.
We’ve yet to have our first fully successful adult male performer who has worked both sides of the industry and to be able to go back and forth between the two. It’s going to be interesting to see what happens next.
