There is something truly hilarious about an award show for escorts. I mean, it is something out of a SNL skit, except funnier. Exactly how is their a voting process and who are the judges? Truly hysterical.

Oh yes, Mel–it’s a long tradition in the gay adult business. Many of them use the video work as long form commercials for their services. My opinion is they should follow the Rob Romoni advice and have a day job outside the sex industry. That said, if they want to capitalize on their physical commodities, that’s their business. I do laugh, though, at escorts who say they have boyfriends–especially when the boyfriend escorts, too. Escorting and trying to have something approximating a relationship is not a long term formula for success. At some point, a blow-up happens, and the pairing takes a swan dive down the crap hole.

There is just something a little “off” about providing “awards” for escorting. I saw the show too and it was completely amateur. Roseland is in the Theatre District and Broadway theatres are on the same block. With all the talent in the gay universe, talent was no where to be found in this show. But, what was I expecting? It’s an award show for hookers!
